Cranes & Rigging Superintendent
Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure & Services, this position is responsible for all crane and rigging operations including maintenance to ensure lifting operations are injury and incident free. The position requires extensive Lifting Machinery qualifications and experience. The candidate would be required to establish / maintain high standards of quality of crane operation, rigging, inspections and registration of lifting equipment.

As Technical Crane & Rigging Superintendent it is your responsibility to manage all activities related to maintenance and operation of large mobile cranes. A critical requirement for the role also includes the ability to train and up skill the local workforce, and have the qualifications required to access and accredit the locals to accredited standards.
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience (preferably 5) in a similar supervisory/superintendent role.
- Operating knowledge on the following cranes is favorable:
- Terex and Tandano mobile Cranes
- Lattice Boom crawler cranes including erecting & dismantling
- High risk work licenses & relevant cranes tickets, with rigging certificate a must.
- Extensive crane experience in Heavy Civil/Construction or mining industry with sound knowledge of international standards relevant to lifting equipment and operations.
- Ability and willingness to train and up-skill the local national workforce to recognized standards of competence.
- Relevant qualifications to assess and accredit local nationals to accredited standards.
- Ability to conduct, write & review lift studies for heavy and critical lifts
- Be computer literate particularly in the Microsoft Office packages.
- Strong communications/interpersonal skills, and fluent in English (both verbal & written).
- A strong commitment and understanding of health, safety and environmental policies
- This position requires a high degree of assertiveness, proactively and flexibility.
