Role overview
This placement is part of the 'No Baby Left Out Project'. The aim of the project is to save lives of the New Born in Lindi and Mtwara region. The pediatrician will have the following tasks and responsibilities:- • Clinical work and in-service training /coaching of staff at the Reproductive and Child Health Clinic (RCH) • Patient care, diagnosis and management of childhood diseases at the children's ward • Participate in the review and management of special cases in the ward and the under five clinic • Participation in RCH Outreaches • Participation in Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) Programme • Support clinical staff to increase their knowledge of HIV & AIDS, ART, AI and TB on children's health • Participate as a member of therapeutic drugs committee and assist/teach clinicians in rational prescribing of drugs |
Skills, qualifications and experience required
The person we are looking for will be able to demonstrate strengths in the following areas: • Qualified Doctor • At least 5 years medical experience • At least 2 years specialist experience in paediatrics • Registered with the General Medical Council in the country |
