The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, is Europe's leading research facility for fundamental research using neutrons. The ILL welcomes more than 2000 visiting scientists per year to carry out world-class research.

Duties:

Reporting directly to the Head of the Administration Division, your main duties will be to:
  • Prepare and maintain contracts and agreements, in particular in the framework of scientific cooperations, jointly funded projects, the promotion of research by the EU or national agencies, as well as consortium agreements, licensing agreements, patents, etc.;
  • Operate the contract management system and archive contracts;
  • Provide ILL scientists with administrative assistance for requests for funding from research agencies in France, the UK and Germany;
  • Participate in the preparation of the Institute's supervisory bodies meetings and assist with the drafting of preparatory documents;
  • Provide legal advice, in particular in the context of questions relating to intellectual property and technology transfer;
  • Clarify the legal aspects of the use of the Institute's facilities by industry;
  • Carry out ad hoc assignments at the request of Management.

Qualifications and experience:

  • You have a Master's degree in law or equivalent training;
  • You have some initial professional experience of legal practice in an international environment, ideally specialising in contract law;
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sense of diplomacy and tact.

Language skills:

As an international research centre, we are particularly keen to ensure that we also attract applicants from outside France.
Sound languages skills are needed for this post: You must speak two of the Institute's official languages fluently (English and French or English and German) and be willing to learn the third (a language course will be paid for by the ILL).
