Background
As a leading investor in developing countries, AKFED is looking to focus more closely on the monitoring, measurement and communication of its activities as they relate to the improvement in the quality of life of the people it serves.

As part of an AKDN wide process, AKFED is planning to implement a project rating system which will assess the performance of AKFED's 90+ businesses in financial, economic and development terms.

Because of AKFED's unique approach to economic development, centred on being a long-term owner-manager of its businesses, AKFED is also keen to supplement the project rating system with additional materials (including surveys, reviews and qualitative research) to communicate the nature and depth of its work to stakeholders.

AKDN has recently created a central Quality of Life Unit (Geneva based) which will provide support to all AKDN Agencies including AKFED in the development, implementation and ongoing operation of their strategic monitoring, evaluation and research.

  • Formulate an appropriate long-term communication plan (interfacing closely with the AKDN Communications department) and once approved, implement the plan.
The position will be based either in Nairobi or the United Arab Emirates.
