The Strategy & Operations service line works with client senior management to support them in their efforts to make major decisions and implement improvement strategies that dramatically increase their company's performance by focusing on "executable strategy" and by integrating industry and functional knowledge in corporate strategy, financial management and operations. Our Strategy & Operations department also provides cutting edge solutions in program leadership to governments, non-governmental organizations and development agencies within East Africa and beyond.
Candidates should either have just completed an undergraduate degree or have worked for at most one (1) year. As a Business Analyst in our Strategy & Operations service line, you will be based in ourNairobi Office and you will work to help our clients in their efforts to solve challenging business and organisational issues.
Specifically, you will focus on the following:
- Ensure availability of accurate and timely data on assigned tasks as required including using available knowledge sources optimally.
- Ensure assigned work is completed within agreed time frames and carried out per approved methodologies and standards and within agreed budgets.
- Learn and apply Deloitte standards, procedures and methodologies on assignments.
- Assist in developing recommendations for corrective action/improvement.
- Keep the Engagement Manager updated on any issues arising from the assignment.
- Assist the Consultants/Senior Consultants with day to day administrative tasks for assignments and also departmental administration tasks such as filing and updating of client files.
- Ensure that all client working papers are filed per approved guidelines and all client files are continually updated.
- Keep abreast with technical developments in the profession and the country, in order to anticipate client needs, and offer value added and practical business solutions.
- Develop and manage good client relations producing outputs which meet client and Firm expectations/standards.
- Market the Firm with the aim of maintaining and winning new business.
- Leverage knowledge and contribute to proper knowledge management within the department.

To qualify for the role of a Business Analyst, you should possess the following:
- An undergraduate degree in the field of accounting, finance, business studies, economics, development studies or related subject
- Strong academic performance i.e. First Class or Upper Second degree
- Relevant professional qualification e.g. CPA, ACCA, CFA and CIA is an added advantage
- Well-developed computer user skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team playing abilities
- Creativity, self-confidence, and flexibility
- Willingness to travel (required)
