Practice Lead - Data Centre Solutions Division
Reporting to the Managing Director – Intelligent Infrastructure, the incumbent will develop business objectives and determine the Data Centre practice's operational vision in line with the company strategy.
Key responsibilities
  • In coordination with other corporate resources, provide pre and post sales support to help identify, qualify and close solution opportunities as depicted in the SST Intelligent Infrastructure-Data Centre Solutions, Business Plan for the fiscal year;
  • Prepare business development opportunity assessments for Data Centre Solutions Practice;
  • Develop and present solutions for client engagements within the Practice;
  • Submit estimates, proposals, statements of work and engagement letters for client opportunities within the Practice;
  • Maintain practice solutions pipeline up to date for all current and future opportunities;
  • Follow global Consulting policies and procedures for deals approval;
  • Maintain and manage the practice's  ales,  billable revenues, gross profit and EBITDA on a yearly basis;
  • Maintain the client's billing utilization as depicted in the business plan for the fiscal year;
  • Maintain the utilization of all practice solutions architects and engineers as depicted in the business plan for the fiscal year;
  • Continuously improve data centre server and storage technical solutions, and the client engagement processes;
  • Lead the development and promotion of solutions offerings in the practice;
  • Develop marketing collateral and value propositions for the practice.
  • Establish the practice as a profit center and manage it as a business unit in line with the company strategy.
  • Manage talent within the practice.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications and experience
  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business Information Technology or related field;
  • Masters degree in Computer Science or  an MBA is of added advantage
  • Vendor Certifications in Oracle/Sun, IBM, EMC, VMWare, Symantec, NetApp and other relevant data center, server and storage certifications;
  • 10+ years experience in enterprise infrastructure solutions with at least 3 of these years leading an infrastructure practice for a major consulting or technology driven firm with a bias towards server and storage sales, delivery and support;
  • Project Management certification and experience is an added advantage;
