International Face to Face Fundraising Specialist

The role
The role holder will provide direct face-to-face (F2F) support to markets where Save the Children International's (SCI) Member Growth Team is actively developing fundraising programmes that rely on this method as a key acquisition channel. They will provide this support in order to launch, build and stabilise F2F activities both in-house and through agencies.

The roe holder will also develop, create and disseminate a tool kit of key materials needed to start and improve face-to-face operations, for the Member Growth Team.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder may be expected to work outside the normal job description and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Qualifications and experience
• Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Institute of Fundraising (IoF) or Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) qualifications or overseas equivalent would be an advantage.
• University degree or other relevant professional qualification or experience in desirable
• Proven success in managing and developing large scale committed regular donor schemes and all aspects of F2F donor acquisition
• Proven donor relationship management, upgrading, attrition management et c in order to maximise the lifetime value of the donor to the organisation
• Proven project management skills with a strong knowledge of all the financial aspects of F2F fundraising including analysis of costs/income, ROI, attrition data and all other KPIs relating to F2F management
• Practical F2F experience in managing street teams, preparing materials and scripts, analysing and reporting on donor recruitment including long term attrition and in donor communications plans and materials
• Capacity to build and maintain excellent relations and to work effectively in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment respecting diversity
• Ability to think critically, objectively, analytically, and strategically, solve problems quickly and show initiative;
• Strong personal organisational and self-management skills. Ability to lead and work in teams and motivate others
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook preferr ed
• Fluent in English with excellent writing and speaking and ideally one other European
• language
• Ability to travel internationally as well as being based in various markets for differing periods of time
• Ability to articulate the work of Save the Children with passion
• Ability to prioritise work for self and others working to project plans and across teams, and to supervise work where required
• An assertive and persuasive negotiator

This role will be offered as a 12 months fixed term contract. It will be located in Pretoria for at least 10 months with the possibility of moving to another location thereafter.
