Training Officer - Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH), Uganda

Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) in conjunction with U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is implementing a leadership and management capacity building program known as MakSPH-CDC HIV/AIDS Fellowship Program. The overall goal of this Program is to groom and nurture a cadre of transformative leader-managers who can think critically, have a high level of inter-disciplinarity and can effectively work with and through teams to lead and manage programs. The Progam offers long- and medium-term Fellowships as well as offsite short courses. To strengthen the implementation of its training activities, the Program invites applications for the following vacancy: Job Title: Training Officer (1) Reports to: Training Manager Job Summary: The Training Officer position will be directly responsible for the organization, coordination, scheduling and the smooth delivery of the short courses under the Fellowship Program and Other capacity building activities.

Requirement: Applicants should possess a Master's degree in a training-related field. Experience: Applicants should have at least 2 years' experience in a training and management position. Experience in organizing and delivery of pre-service and in-service trainings will be of considerable advantage. Applicants should have strong organization and supervisory skills, be a team player with good interpersonal and negotiation skills, be proficient in the use of word processing, power point, and other software packages, and should have good communication skills with an excellent command of the English language, both oral and written
