VACANCY


     Post: Field Officer   

FIDE (Friends In Development) is a local NGO established in 1992 and operating in Manyara and Kilimanjaro regions. FIDE is committed to improve the standard of living of communities through empowerment and emphasis on sustainable use of resources. Its main activities are; agricultural development, improvement of livestock keeping systems, group formation/strengthening, women and youth advancement, environmental conservation and renewable energy technologies.


FIDE is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to fill the post of Field Officer.


Principal duties;


  • Preparation of reports, plans and budgets

  • Conducting monitoring and evaluation of projects in the field.

  • Coordination and supervision of field activities.

  • Organize and conduct trainings, meetings, to farmer groups.

  • Assit communities and groups in identifying development obstacles through sensitization and build a trust relationship with them.

  • Write project proposals or applications to donor agencies.

  • Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with other stakeholders in the District.


Qualifications and other requirements:-


  • A degree or equivalent at least in one of the following areas; community development, agricultural related fields, agronomy and rural development.

  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in agriculture or rural development.

  • Proven qualities in planning, monitoring and budgeting.

  • Knowledge of agricultural and marketing aspects and working experience with farmer groups.

  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili.

  • Computer literate (Windows, Word, Excel, power point,etc )

  • Able to work independently and with minimum supervision.

  • Knowledge in proposal writing and.

  • Good communication and facilitating skills.

  • Good team player.

  • Motorbike driving license is an advantage.

In order to improve the gender balance in the present team, FIDE expresses a strong preference for female candidates to fill this position.



Remuneration and conditions:

Salary and other benefits will be determined based on experience and qualifications and in line with FIDE human resource policy.


The field officer can expect a 2-year contract after a successful completion of a three month probation period.
