The Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI) is a Parastatal Organisation under the Ministry of Works, transport and Communication. The Institute is established by the Act of Parliament No.22 of 1991 as a specialized Institution to provide Maritime Education and Training with the aim to center for manpower needs.
DMI is fully accredited by Surface and Marine Transport Regulatory Authority (SUMATRA) to offer education and training in accordance with the international Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW), 1978 as amended. DMI is also accredited by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) and is recognized by East African Cooperation (EAC) as a Center of Excellence for Maritime Education and Training in East Africa Region.

Principal Administrative And Personnel Officer (1 Position)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Maintains staff discipline.
ii. Organizes seminars, symposium and workshops
iii. Devises procedures for staff appraisal.
iv. Develops and implements the use of public relations material such as pamphlets, booklets, posters and other materials.
v. Advises the Head of Finance and Administration on matters related to administration and personnel of the Institute.
vi. Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Finance and Administration Department.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Holder of Masters Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or any other related field from recognized Institution.
