Chief Operating Officer , Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania Limited

Established 7years ago as a finance bank house, Diamond Trust Bank has today grown into a leading commercial bank offering a wide spectrum of banking services. Through its affiliation in Uganda , Kenya and Burundi, DTB has a regional presence which none of the peer banks can boast of, DTB Tanzania is consistently ranked amongst the most successful banks in the country with profit before tax increasing at a CAGR of 32% over last 6years

With 25 operational branches in Tanzania, DTB is now looking for capable and qualified individuals to fill in the following positions:-

1. Chief Operating Officer
Reporting to the CEO and working as a key member of the Bank's leadership team, will take a leadership role in building, implementing, and overseeing all of the Bank's systems, processes, workflows, and procedures to ensure maximum results.
The incumbent will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling aIl the day-to-day activities of the Bank from a strategic and Operational perspective. Major Bank functions under the direct supervision of Chief Operating Officer are ICT, Operations, International Business/Fund transfers, Human Resources Management, Finance and Administration and Treasury Back Office.


Key Responsibilities;
• Manages all operational activities as a profit and cost center and ensures the delivery of reliable, quality and timely services to clients while ensuring maximum profitability and compliance with bank policies and procedures.
• Develops and implements procedures/controls to ensure security/accountability.
• Participates in the design of hardware and software systems to assist in the smooth-and efficient flow of information.
• Ensure that risk is effectively addressed in all aspects of the business under the COO.
• Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood. Provide leadership for effective people management.
• Lead, inspire and coach a team of high calibre professionals, creating succession to key roles and enhancing Bank management capability.


Educational qualifications
• Experience & competence. required
• At least 25 years banking experience with at least 10 years' experience at senior level in various roles including Credit, Treasury, Branch Supervision and Business Development.
• At least 5 years' experience as Branch Manager of a large branch.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
• Familiar with application of Technology.
• Strong evaluation, communication, communication, presentation and reporting skills
• Entrepreneurial and Commercial Thinking individual
• Able to provide advice and cause/effect evaluation to support business decision making on credit, treasury and operational banking.
