Amref Health Africa is an independent, non-profit, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) whose mission is "to improve the health of people by partnering with and empowering communities and strengthening health systems". Amref Health Africa-Tanzania is largely supported by Multilateral, Bilateral and National donors, implementing several programmes including HIV/AIDSITB/Malaria, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Water and sanitation, capacity building and clinical outreach.
Amref Health Africa with its partner Legal Human Right Centre (LHRC) have received funds from UN Women through the UN Trust Fund to implement a three year project on Female Genital Mutilation Elimination (Tokomeza Ukeketaji) in Serengeti district, Mara region.
Also, Amref Health Africa has received funding from the Government of Canada under "Partnership initiatives to Strengthen Maternal New- born and Child Health (PS-MNCH) in developing countries. This is a five year project to be implemented in two districts in Geita region (Geita DC and Nyang'wale).

Project Officer - Rmnch Technical: - PS-MNCH
(DFATD), Based in GEITA and Nyang'wale)-2 positions
Reports to: Project Manager
JOB OBJECTIVE:-
Provide required quality technical skills and guidance to project team, partners and stakeholders in provision of gender sensitive and friendly RMNCH services in health facilities and out-reach services
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
Work closely with District Medical Officers and RCH coordinators in establishment and coordination of defined RMNCH services supported by the project.
Spearheaded RMNCH training and other capacity building activities for health service providers of different cadres in the District Councils as required by the project.
Work closely with DMOs and District Pharmacists in identification, quantification, ordering/re-ordering of required medical supplies for clinical services as per agreed plans.
Provide day-to-day technical and clinical support to partners and field officers.
Work with Project Manager in ensuring adequate support is provided to the Council Health Management Teams to ensure comprehensive delivery of essential RMNCH package.
Actively participate in District council health planning, supervisory, training and monitoring activities.
Provide on-site mentoring, quality assurance and refresher training to health service providers available in health facilities and community health workers in the identified wards.
Actively participate in Operation Research.
Ability to work independently good leadership and communication skills
Ability to work with people from all backgrounds
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Postgraduate degree in public health, sociology, community development, medicine and nursing, or related.
Four (4) years' or more experience in implementing community system intervention, health systems, experience in working with local government and well versed with the Tanzania health system,
Ability to work independently good leadership and communication skills
Ability to work with people from all backgrounds
