World Energy Scenarios & Resources Team Senior Project Manager
The World Energy Council is seeking a Senior Project Manager who will form part of the World Energy Scenarios and Resources team and work closely with the Deputy Director. A good understanding of the energy sector, global affairs and experience in project management and stakeholder relations, are required.
Following the well-received launch of its most recent set of world scenarios, "World Energy Scenarios: Composing Energy Futures to 2050", in October 2013, the World Energy Council (WEC) is now launching the next round of its scenario and resources activities. This entails a scenario deep dive for Latin America and Africa and the review of the Global scenarios for 2016. The Energy Resources publication will entail evaluating the potentials of all the energy resources, as well as some cross-cutting technologies, assessing opportunities/limitations, new technologies and risks relating to these.

The main responsibilities of the position are:
- Working with the Core Team and the Study Groups to advance the project;
- Assisting with development and implementation of the work plan for the next phases of Scenarios and Resources;
- Interacting with external project partners who are producing the modelling and some content for the study;
- Interacting with members of the various study groups to ensure delivery of reports and reviewing content;
- Organising, preparing and attending meetings and workshops related to the project;
- Working with the London office team to ensure that the Scenarios messages and outcomes are consistent with messages and outcomes from WEC's other flagship projects;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Project management experience
- Knowledge and understanding of energy issues and technologies
- Research experience
- Writing skills
- Stakeholder management
- Excellent communication skills, written and spoken fluency in English
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Flexibility, commitment and an ability to multi-task
