Stores Manager - Moshi

Context/Scope:
Serengeti Breweries Ltd (SBL) operates exclusively in Tanzania and is the 2nd largest beer company with a market share of 25%. SBL is a subsidiary of East Africa Breweries Ltd (EABL) – which is in turn partly owned by one of the world's biggest alcoholic beverage companies, Diageo. The company is an integrated demand/supply business with 3 operational breweries in Dar Es Salaam, Mwanza, and a third one in Moshi, which is situated in the northern part of the country near the Kenyan border. SBL's flagship brand is Premium Serengeti lager, which accounts for 50% of SBL sales volumes. The other beer brands are Tusker, Guinness, Tusker Malt, Kick and Pilsner.
SBL has 3 fully operational breweries in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza and Moshi with a combined capacity of 1.3m Hls. Moshi has a capacity of c600khls per annum and a scope to expand to more than 1 million in F14.
EABL has recently acquired a major stake in SBL in Tanzania and is currently integrating the business to EABL/Diageo standards. Resourcing is a critical enabler to ensuring a seamless integration and business continuity going forward.
Market Complexity:SBL operates in a competitive environment and in a vast geography. The main player in the beer industry is Tanzania Breweries Ltd. (TBL), a subsidiary of SABMiller, who until recently were a third party manufacturer of EABL brands Tusker, Pilsner and Guinness. As a result of the cessation of the agreement between TBL and EABL, there is heightened competitive activity in that market.
Purpose of Role:To continually review stocking of production and engineering materials with a view to maintain optimum stocks and hence reduce overall stock holding costs, without compromising on production, maintenance, sales forecast.To ensure proper disposal of by products and waste generated as per company environmental policy.

Top 3-5 Accountabilities:
- Controlling and ensuring that SBL as a company has secure and enough stocks to support production in order to avoid plant stoppages that can lead to profit and market loss.
- Monitoring of re-order level of spares and materials.
- Ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, spares and engineering utilities as per agreed schedules.
- Develop and implement stores procedures and quality manuals in line with current quality and environment standards.
- Responsible as a priority for providing weekly and monthly stock reports to purchasing just in time to enable replenishment.
- Document and implement CARM as part of risk management.
- Improve service level to internal and external customers.
- Enact measures to monitor environmental, health and safety risks in working environment and coming up with corrective applicable action.
- Managing inventories and meeting cost cutting targets
- Contributing to new product costing and development.
- Responsible for budgetary planning and control of SBL Stores cost center.
- Produce measures to monitor stock performance in SBL and recommend obsolete and slow moving items to be written off.
- Assist in planning, development and implementation of all SBL stores projects.
- Produce stockholding monthly reports in value indicating the trend of stocks for executive meetings.
- Responsible for planning and co-coordinating SBL annual stocktaking and perpetual stock take.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements at the work environment.
- A degree in commerce, economics or engineering from a recognized university.
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply highly desirable
- A professional Diploma in CIPS purchasing and supplies management.
- Proficient in the use of ERP systems, preferably Tally, Maximo/SAP
