If you have effective communications skills, an excellent command of written and spoken English, web writing and editing experience and have worked in an internal communications role, then this could be your ideal next career step.
From existing material through to creating new content, you will be writing and editing articles in a lively and engaging way. Your aim will be to convey corporate information and staff stories in an accessible and easily assimilated style, mainly via the intranet, our main internal communications and knowledge-sharing platform.
You will be involved with developing an over-arching strategy to foster knowledge sharing; sourcing stories from colleagues, editing, sub-editing, picture-taking and researching; content-management; assisting with the development of video and multimedia opportunities; and using our web content management system to upload and format content.
The Commonwealth works with 53 member governments in areas of economic, social and political development. We provide practical technical assistance, offering thought leadership and innovative solutions.
So if you have a relevant degree such as journalism or English followed by at three years' experience of writing, editing and proof-reading copy for the web; good news judgement; experience of producing photo-galleries, editing audio and video; knowledge of HTML, Photoshop and web production; please up-date your portfolio ready to present your work to us.
