Intern, Good Offices Section

If you have attained, or are at an advanced stage of, your degree or masters in a subject such as political science or international relations, with a particular focus on conflict and conflict resolution studies there is now an outstanding opportunity to gain practical experience with one of the world's most influential inter-governmental organisations.
Joining our Political Division, which promotes democracy and good governance, you will focus on conflict prevention and resolution as well as post-conflict capacity-building programmes, as you support the Secretary-General's good offices activities.
A self-starter with the ability to pay attention to detail, you will be involved with preparing draft communications; developing and maintaining a roster of mediation experts; up-dating documentation; monitoring and analysing developments relating to conflict and peace; and organising meetings.
The Commonwealth comprises 53 independent sovereign states. Our aim is to provide sustainable and people-centred development through professional advice, transfer of best practice and the enhancement of skills and knowledge.
