As the part of Opportunity's International network, OTL's mission is to make available to the economically disadvantaged members of Tanzanian society, small business loans and other appropriate financial services that, coupled with the necessary training, enable them to develop and sustain income generating and job creating enterprises.
As an expanding company were are looking for key staff in the following vacancy
Position:
Credit Administration Officer.
Duty station:
Head Office, Dar Es Salaam
Reports to:
Chief Operations Officer.
Overall purpose of the job
The Credit Admin Officer will be responsible for assisting in the day to day operations of the Operations Department. The person will be responsible for due diligent checks prior to approvals and disbursement of loans, security documentation and perfection, lodging and withdrawal of securities, management of securities registry and safe custody and management of recovery processes on securities held by the institution in case of default.
Academic/ professional qualifications
A Diploma preferably in business related discipline from a recognized college.
A University Degree will be an added advantage
Three years experience working in the same post in Financial institution
Skills
Credit knowledge and experience, security perfection spanning across the different types of acceptable securities, administrative skills, filing, and computer skills preferably MS Office, Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic legal knowledge will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities


-       Review and analysis of Credit Files originating from branches before submission to Head Office Credit Committee.
-       Evaluation of proposed securities and collaterals before approval of loans,
-       Monitor and address customer issues raised in Head Office Credit Committee and coordinate with branches.
-       Ensure branch audit issues are addressed and closed to avoid repeat finding and exceptions.
-       Ensure the interest of the company is well covered in all loans processed and disbursed.
-       Maintain accurate and up to date security register for Education and individual loans.
-       Maintain accurate and up to date insurance register for Education and individual loans.
-       Review and recommend loan editing and restructuring on case basis.
-       Analyze loan correction documentation for compliance and recommend the same for approval on need cases.
-       Execute joint registration for motor vehicle and executing charges on property among other immovable assets.
-        Review Education and individual loan documents for compliance to policies and procedures to ensure proper and efficient delivery of credit administration duties
-       Ensuring that security documents have been filed properly and that documentation is in place
-       Portfolio monitoring to ensure repayment rates remain at acceptable levels,
-       Establish and manage a list of service providers key to the lending processes of the institution like valuers, lawyers, debt collectors, auctioneers among others,
-       To confirm reasonability of collateral values in cases of unprofessional valuation.
-       Initiate recovery in liaison with other departments in case of default.
-       Prepare different reports on the status of portfolio and function at large.
-       Verify authenticity of default loan balances and adherence to delinquent management procedures before loan write offs.
-       Manage loan write off process and post write off recovery.
-       Ensure that regulatory matters are complied with, including submission of reports and credit reference checks.
