In the future, Mobisol aspires to scale rapidly in order to reach hundreds of thousands of households within the growing BoP (Bottom of Pyramid) market – thereby stimulating economic and social development in project countries while simultaneously contributing to global environmental protection. 

Our largest operations are in Tanzania where Mobisol has established a strong sales base as well as a qualified and highly motivated local team of over 80 employees. Mobisol Ltd has been established in 2013 to foster and expand our operations within the Tanzanian market and accompany our growth in East Africa.

 

As part of our expansion plan in Tanzania, Mobisol Ltd is looking to fill several positions in its technical department for our new office in Mwanza Region.

 

  Head of Assembling (1 position)

 

The Head of Assembly is primarily responsible for the supervision of the assembling and testing of the systems in close contact with the Distribution department.

 

  • Ensure availability of all stock and components for assembly
  • Ensure all systems are assembled according to the latest Technical standards and requirements – in close contact with the Berlin Technical team
  • Monitor, document and report all assembly activities on a monthly basis and forward to the HOD Technical – (number of assembled systems, challenges, shortages etc.)
  • Supervise the offloading of containers
  • Take part in the evaluation of the Assembly Technicians and setting KPI's in collaboration with HOD Technical
  • Ensure Assembly Technicians have up to date TORs, Contracts in close collaboration with HR department
  • Requesting of Interns  via HOD
  • Ensure supervision of Interns
  • Constantly update the Local Technician Network Manager on changes in technology procedure, collect concerns, challenges etc. from the field
  • Recommend and implement health and safety procedures in the department
  • Assist with monthly inventory

 

Qualifications and skills required

 

  • Degree, Advanced Diploma or FTC in Electrical or Electronics
  • 2 years' experience in the same or similar role
  • Computer Literate, especially Microsoft Office tools and database management
  • Ability to work under pressure, time management ,methodical and focused
  • Managerial experience is a must

 

 

Assembling Supervisor (1position)

 

The Assembling Supervisor is primarily responsible to make sure all SHS pass quality control test before being delivered to customers

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in assembly materials stock inventory management
  • Repairs and Maintenance to Office and Workshop power systems
  • Capacity building to assembly team members
  • Clear all queries related to loading SHS details to database
  • Quality checks to prepared SHS
  • Ensure that all SHS are correctly captured into the database
  • Provide trainings to Assembly Technicians

 

 

Work / information Process

 

The Assembling Supervisor reports to Head of Assembly and Head of Technical Department

 

Qualifications and skills required

 

  • Degree, Advanced Diploma or FTC in Electrical or Electronics
  • 2 years' experience in the same or similar role
  • Computer Literate, especially Microsoft Office tools and database management
  • Ability to work under pressure, time management ,methodical and focused

 

 

Assembling Technician (2positions)

 

The Assembling Technician is primarily responsible for the assembling of Mobisol solar home systems (SHS). The incumbent has to ensure that the systems are assembled correctly according to the company's standards and that they are ready for sale.

 

  • Prepare a minimum of 20 prepared Solar Controller for each working day
  • Create and test a minimum of 15 prepared Mobisol Systems for each working day
  • Support the Quality Assurance Officer/Technician in system quality test in coordination with assistant assembly supervisor
  •  Involved in capacity building to Student Interns at Assembly Section of Tech Department
  • Pre Delivery inspections to sample of Panels, batteries and Appliances after receiving consignments from manufactures
  • Maintain workshop cleanness, proper arrangement of tools and materials all the time at the workshop
  • Always adhere to all Healthy and Safety procedures while performing your duty
  • Assisting Distribution/logistics department during loading of the system to the transport-for their delivery to Market Hubs
  • Assist logistics department in offloading of containers to Regional Hub Storage facilities
  • Preparing controller materials(e.g. Heat Sinks, painting of solar and regulator boards) before controller assembly
  • Assisting Assistant assembly supervisor in clearance of all power system problems at the office

 

Work / information Process

 

The Assembling Technician reports to the Head of Technical Department.

 

Qualifications and skills required -

 

  • Advanced Diploma, FTC or Trade test certification in Electrical or Electronics
  • 1 year experience in the same or similar role
  • Computer Literate, especially Microsoft Office tools and database management
  • Ability to work under pressure, time management ,methodical and focused

 

 

Head of Refurbishment(1 position)

 

The main responsibility of Head of Refurbishment is to ensure that all faulty controllers from Market Hubs are repaired and pass quality control tests before being returned to Market Hubs.

 

Other activities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Oversee and monitor all refurbishment activities
  • Participate in Technical Bi-weekly meetings
  • Participate in refurbishment team performance evaluation meetings

Specialized tasks

  • Capacity building to team members
  • Interface between Product Development team and Zonal refurbishment team on SHS updates and tests

Work / information Process

 

The Head of Refurbishment reports to both the Zonal Hub Manager and Chief Technical Officer.

 

Qualifications and skills required

 

  • Degree, Advanced Diploma, FTC in Electrical or Electronics from a certified academic institution
  • 2 year hands-on experience in repairs and designing of Printed Circuit Boards
  • Extended knowledge of MS office tools and database management
  • Ability to communicate complex matters in a comprehensive way
  • Supervisory skills

 

Refurbishment Assistant (1 position)

 

The Refurbishment Assistant provides support to the Head of Refurbishment in Overseeing, monitoring and preparing refurbishment reports

 

Other activities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that healthy and safety policy and procedures are adhered at the workshop
  • Updating Local Network Manager on changes made to SHS technology
  • Participate in all refurbishment activities including controller repairs, testing re-possessed system parts and testing of prototypes
  • Quality Control to repaired controllers
  • Eliminate hazards in refurbishment section

 

Work / information Process

 

The Refurbishment Assistant reports to the Head of Refurbishment.

 

Qualifications and skills required

 

  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical or Electronics
  • Hands on experience in printed circuit board repair
  • In-depth technical understanding, especially in PCB circuits
  • Experience in providing training and technical support
  • Interpersonal and Logical reasoning,
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Solar systems experience is added advantage
  • Programming and database experience is essential

 

Technician Coordinators (3 positions)

 

Managerial functions:    

  • Supervise the Technicians  minimum of 20  Technicians
  • Recruit the Installation and Maintenance Technicians as per Mobisol'sTechnicians  recruitment criteria
  • Ensure the growth of the Fund network throughout Mobisol's target areas
  • Regularly update all the documents related to his tasks (Installation Technician  and Maintenance Technician  Contracts, licenses when expired)
  • Prepare monthly report of monthly activities and share with Supervisor
  • Prepare and controlling monthly commission payments for the Technicians – using the maintenance sheet, sky drive sheets and customer satisfaction sheet as reference.

 

Normal Tasks:

  • Ensure all the Technicians are equipped with the necessary equipment for their work e.g. ID cards, Manual, Tools.
  • Close monitoring of the Technicians to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner as well ensure installations were done correctly especially for new recruited Installation Technicians
  • Prepare action plan on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Coordinate with the relevant departments
  • Hold regular meetings with the Technicians in the field
  • Ensure all Technician training materials are prepared prior to their training
  • Enter sales of extra appliances in to the database done by our service hub from the maintenance hub
  • Ensure the Technicians submit all the document for the system installed at the last day  of each month

 

Specialized tasks :

  • Train the Technicians to Mobisol's Standards
  • Approve Installation Technician to be a Maintenance Technician

Report to the Local Network Technician Manager

 

Qualifications and skills required:

 

  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience of  at least 1 year
  • Ability to manage team efficiently
  • Good computer skills especially MS Excel
