Project Accountant (PA)



Project Accountant (PA) Kilombero Valley and Development organization (KIVEDO) has received funds from the Federal Germany Ministry of economic cooperation and development through Plan international Germany and Plan international Tanzania in implementing the "Climate Change Adaptation Project" in Kilombero District, in 6 villages namely Mofu, Kisegese, Namwawala, Mbingu, Mkangawalo and Udagaji, KIVEDO has a honor to invite applicants for the post below;

Post: Project Accountant (PA)
Will be responsible in managing corporate financial information system in KIVEDO and ensures compliance and internal controls are adhered to the procurement and payment process and to enhance the financial capabilities of the KIVEDO organization and communities, effectively manage budgets for efficient implementation of the Eco village project in Ifakara, Kilombero District.

Job responsibilities:
Review payment requests and process cheques to suppliers and various partners and post them in General Ledger accounting system.
Responsible for General Ledger Accounting- safeguard system to avoid system breakdown
Manage all payments to the communities and partners with regards to project implementation.
Cash management- monitor bank balances and prepare cash projections for weekly cash transfers.
Review local purchase orders (LPO) and purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy and budget availability.
Budget controls- ensure all financial commitments are within the budget limits.
Review petty cash, prepare bank reconciliations and prepare end month financial reports.
Prepare Interim and annual financial narrative reports in accordance with donor requirements.
Manage staff travel and purchase advance payments.

Knowledge
A  degree in Accounting or its equivalent qualification
CPA holder is  added advantage
Working experience in non profit making organization will be an added advantage
2¬-3 years working Experience as accountant
Skills and behaviors
Analytical, problem solving and good communication skills
Proficient in Computer skills and use relevant Accounting packages
Hardworking with capacity to work independently with minimum supervision
Ability to work under multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
Honest, integrity, open and transparent personality.
Team player working towards achieving a team goal
