Materials Analyst

Sandvik Materials Technology, a world-leading developer and manufacturer of products in advanced stainless steels and special alloys for the most demanding environments, as well as products and systems for industrial heating.
Sandvik Materials Technology has an opening for a Materials Analyst at the Clarks Summit, PA facility.

Key Performance Areas

• Product acceptance testing using test method such as Mechanical Testing, Chemical Analysis, Corrosion Testing and other miscellaneous test methods to assess product characteristics against the requirements of customer and industry specifications
• Preparation of stock solutions
• Process Control testing, including wet chemistry
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment

High involvement, small team environment, Opportunity to learn with state of the art laboratory equipment including: Rigaku Primus II X-ray Spectrometer, Spectro Optical Emissions System, Leco Nitrogen Analyzer, Nikon Imaging System, Tinius Olsen Tensile Testers, and Wilson Hardness Testers.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry preferred. Equivalent discipline will be considered (ie. Physics, Chemical Engineering, Material Science)
• Strong math skills and scientific aptitude
• Familiar with stainless steel products and laboratory experience considered a plus
