Mobisol's products combine solar energy with innovative mobile technology and microfinance. Mobisol is currently serving over 5,000 customers in Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda. In the future, Mobisol aspires to scale rapidly in order to reach hundreds of thousands of households within the growing BoP (Bottom of Pyramid) market – thereby stimulating economic and social development in project countries while simultaneously contributing to global environmental protection. 

Our largest operations are in Tanzania where Mobisol has established a strong sales base as well as a qualified and highly motivated local team of over 80 employees. Mobisol Ltd has been established in 2013 to foster and expand our operations within the Tanzanian market and accompany our growth in East Africa.

 

As part of our expansion plan in Tanzania, Mobisol Ltd is looking for Market Hub development Officer for Trade Marketing and Brand Management for our new office in Mwanza Region.

 

 

 

The main role of the Market Hub Development Officer is primarily responsible for the development of the Market Hub network in the associated region. This includes the identification as well as set-up of Market Hubs. 

The responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

 Identification of Market Hubs

  • Conduct market research: identify new potential market(s) or evaluate existing market(s) with Sales Agents/Local Technicians who may become a Market Hub Operator.
  • Develop methods and assessment criteria for the evaluation of potential markets
  • Work closely with the Local Network Technical Manager and the Marketing and Sales Officer to identify and evaluate the potential market(s) as well as to formulate a strategic agenda for Market Hub set-up and development

 

Set-up of Market Hubs

  • Plan and implement Market Hub Openings in close collaboration with the potential Market Hub Operator, MH Team Leader, Local Network Technical Manager and Marketing and Sales Officer
  • Follow the Checklist for Market Hub Opening

o Prepare the Market Hub Starter Kit

o Organize Market Hub delivery, in collaboration with Market Hub Distribution   Officer during hub opening.

o Closely communicate with the Technical team, in particular the Local network Technical Manager, for planned technician training regarding installation/maintenance

o Closely communicate with the Marketing and Sales Officer(s) for planned marketing activities prior and during Market hub Opening.

  • Plan and implement Market Hub Closing when necessary in close collaboration with MHO, Market Hub Team leader, Local network Technical Manager and MHTF team.

 

Additional tasks

  • Develop and draft process / operation guidelines, manuals and assessment criteria for MH performance

 

Work / information Process

 

The Market Hub Development Officer directly reports to the Market Hub Team Leader. This report includes a status update on Market Hubs development. ie

 

  • Action plan for the next Hub opening.
  • A detailed report for the hub which were opened this month.
  • A report of the hub which were closed this month or the plan to close a hub next month.
  • How many potential MH were identified this month.
  • How many potential MHO, AMHO, SA, IT & MT were trained this month.
  • How many potential MH were pending to be opened for this month.
  • What are the challenges faced during a plan of hub opening this month.
  • What are the Observations you have seen during the process of a hub opening for this month.

 

 

 

Qualifications and skills required: 
  • University Degree BA Entrepreneurship, Small Enterprise Management or related
    • Minimum experience of  2 years performing related tasks
    • Proven track record of working on successful marketing campaigns and/or a portfolio
    • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly through formal reports, presentations, memoranda and email
    • Proven record engaging with local government
    • Must be self-motivated, with an ability to balance multiple projects while working under tight deadlines with close attention to detail, accuracy and quality at all times
    • Market research experience including qualitative and quantitative data analysis would be a bonus.
    • Fluency in English and Swahili Languages as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
