The Intern will follow and participate in the Gender Equility Architecture Reform (Gear) Campaign, the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) meetings, and other UN processes as needed.

MADRE internships are a great way to gain work experience and support MADRE's work with women and families worldwide.

Internships come with a $15/day stipend and require a minimum time commitment of 15 hours a week for at least three months. Internships take place at the MADRE office in Manhattan.  MADRE offers three internship sessions throughout the year: Summer (June-August), Fall (September-December), and Spring (January-May).
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Partnerships for Change projects, including program updates, proposals, reports, highlights, and profiles of organizations.
  • Research specific issues related to MADRE programs: Peace Building, Women's Health/Violence Against Women/Sexual Rights, Economic & Environmental Justice.
  • Provide support for MADRE campaigns and programs.
  • Monitor UN debates on issues related to MADRE programs and issue areas.
  • Provide research support on women's human rights, using UN reports and other resources.
  • Provide administrative support to MADRE staff.
**Bilingual Spanish/English language skills are desired, but not required, for the Program Intern position.
