Young people share a restless determination to address the problems that affect them the most. That's where we come in.
At Restless Development, we're proud to be the banner carrier for youth-led development, demonstrating from the grassroots to the global policy levels that young people can and must play a lead role in development. As a result, Restless Development is repeatedly cited as a model of best practice in youth-led development by the World Bank, the UK Department for International Development (DFID), UNICEF, UNAIDS and others.
The UK Campaigns Team, of which this role would be a part of, supports our network of returned international volunteers to push for global justice from the UK, through training and supporting them to campaign on international development issues including HIV&AIDS, Economic Inequality and Climate Change. In addition to these areas, the UK Campaigns Team is now leading Restless Development's involvement in the exciting Action/2015 global campaign.
Restless Development believes that young people must be at heart of this exciting global campaign. That is why we are coordinating the Global Youth Action Team. The team, consisting of youth-focused organisations across the globe, aims to bring active youth voice to all parts of the Action/2015 campaign by:
- Mobilising youth to take action in support of the post-2015 development framework and climate change through the Action/2015 campaign;
- Delivering specific campaigning and movement-building activities targeted at youth;
- Mainstreaming youth voice and perspectives, and the role of youth as leaders, across all components of the Action/2015 campaign.
We are seeking a highly motivated, passionate and organised candidate to lead this new, exciting and dynamic area of work.
To apply please follow the instructions in the job description, sending completed applications to the email address stated in the application form, stating the vacancy job title UK - Action/2015 Youth Coordinator
Closing date for this position is 9am, Thursday 27th November 2014.
