Restless
Development is the national banner carrier for youth-led
development. We’ve been in Tanzania since 1993, growing,
changing and responding to the most urgent issues facing young
Tanzanians.
The
Young Reporters Network (YRN) falls under the Mabinti Tushike
Hatamu(MTH) project delivered in partnership with UNICEF and
Tanzania AIDS Commission, and implemented in Mbeya, Iringa and
Temeke. MTH aims to test, evaluate and share strategies for
reducing the vulnerability of adolescent out-of-school females
aged 10-19 to HIV and AIDS, pregnancy and violence.
Your
role will be to support implementation of FAHAMU, ONGEA,
SIKILIZWA engagement project aimed at enhancing the
participation of young people in the project. You will work
closely with our Senior Project Coordinator, in leading
volunteers to train and educate young people, turn out to
vote, and ensure youth are peaceful and positive citizens in
the process. You will train, coach, volunteers, local partners
and stakeholders to create an environment where civic
engagement and dialogue is built.
You
will be a talented individual who is committed to youth led
development and passionate about promoting participatory
approaches to civic engagement. You will have previous
experience working as a volunteer, and will demonstrate the
ability to coordinate and gain the respect of our volunteer.
