Housing Coordinator
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and results-oriented professional for the position of Housing Coordinator to manage all short-term and long-term housing arrangements, ensuring delivery of excellent customer care that contributes to memorable service experiences.

The position is based at CIMMYT's Main Campus (located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico).

Specific responsibilities of this position:

  • Cater to requests from staff and visitors regarding housing and recreational areas of CIMMYT.
  • Ensure all housing and recreational areas (including, but not limited to pool, sports courts, BBQ area and other facilities) are in proper condition at all times.
  • Oversee all housekeeping/laundry operations for the delivery of excellent levels of service, reducing efficiency lags and improving turnaround times.
  • Plan and execute all bookings for short-term and long-term accommodation according to availability. This task includes the full booking cycle from the receipt of a booking to the allocation of costs to relevant project budgets.
  • Verify that all accommodation units are in proper condition and arrange proper maintenance and cleaning services where and when required.
  • Track, evaluate and make decisions concerning customer satisfaction levels with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Operate within departmental budgets through effective stock and cost controls and well managed schedules.
  • Monitor the appearance, standards and performance of the Housekeeping/Laundry Team with an emphasis on training and teamwork.
  • Maintain excellent communication and relations with all areas across CIMMYT, including its external stakeholders.
  • Ensure excellent teamwork and serve as direct and effective line manager for a small team of staff, timely addressing performance issues and training requirements, in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications, skills and attitudes:

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Business Administration, Tourism, Hotel Management or related area.
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in a similar environment is required, including demonstrated experience managing a fast-paced department in a limited budget scenario. Extensive experience in a service function responsible for exceptional quality standards is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering consistent high level of customer service.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficient in IT: MS Office (advanced level of Excel and Word), Outlook, Internet and Social Networks and knowledge of software associated with the hospitality industry is required.
  • Excellent grooming standards and high level of attention to details. This requirement will be tested during the interview process.
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations without schedule restrictions.
  • Excellent level of English (Minimum at European Common Framework of Reference of Languages level B2)
  • Strong communications and problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with high accuracy.
  • Ability to work with different nationalities, and as a member of a multidisciplinary, multicultural and diverse work team.
