About the role
As a Strategy Adviser joining our small, highly collaborative Implementation Group, you'll support the roll out of a range of high priority projects. It's a fast-paced, responsive environment that calls for direct liaison with Ministers and DfE leaders from across the Department. So with the full breadth of the Department's strategic priorities in mind, you'll draw on strong analytical skills to scrutinise delivery plans and policy proposals – making sure they're well designed and serving their purpose. Identifying areas for improvement, you'll then work closely with policy leads to develop effective solutions and make recommendations for change. And overseeing these change initiatives from concept through to delivery, you'll have a very real influence over key drivers, assumptions and ongoing delivery plans – making sure challenges have been addressed, policies remain on track and that we continue to make a difference to children and young people across the UK.

With experience gained in a similarly fast-paced strategy consulting environment, you'll have a firm view of the bigger picture – allowing you to strike the balance between the Department's overall aims and the complex policies affecting those aims. Thanks to outstanding analysis skills, you'll use a variety of qualitative and quantitative evidence to help us think creatively and originally about our options. Beyond that, you'll have a record of engaging senior government officials to represent strategy.
