Senior Strategy Adviser

Senior Strategy Adviser
The Department for Education aims to create a highly-educated society in which opportunity is equal for children and young people, no matter what their circumstances or family background. And as an expert in shaping and delivering the strategies that serve to drive that ambition, you'll play a crucial role in its realisation.
About the role
As a Senior Strategy Adviser joining our small, highly collaborative Implementation Group, you'll be the driving force behind the roll out of a range of high priority projects. It's a fast-paced, responsive environment that calls for direct liaison with Ministers and DfE leaders from across the Department. So with the full breadth of the Department's strategic priorities in mind, you'll draw on strong analytical skills to scrutinise delivery plans and policy proposals – making sure they're well designed and serving their purpose. Identifying areas for improvement, you'll then work closely with policy leads to develop effective solutions and make recommendations for change. And leading these change initiatives from concept through to delivery, you'll have a very real influence over key drivers, assumptions and ongoing delivery plans – making sure challenges have been addressed, policies remain on track and that we continue to make a difference to children and young people across the UK.
About you
With a wealth of experience gained in a similarly fast-paced consulting environment, you'll have a firm view of the bigger picture – allowing you to strike the balance between the Department's overall aims and the complex policies affecting those aims. Thanks to outstanding analysis skills, you'll use a variety of qualitative and quantitative evidence to help us think creatively and originally about our options. Beyond that, you'll have a record of engaging senior leaders to develop and implement strategy.
