Procurement and supplier relations (PSR) is responsible for the supply chain management (SCM) process ensuring safe and efficient supply of products and services to all our operations and development projects globally. The organization of approximately 900 people possesses comprehensive competence within all parts of the supply chain process, from market analysis and procurement to transportation and logistics. The organization procures products and services for all of Statoil's business areas for approximately NOK 120 billion annually.
PSR's structure has a clear functional and customer focus. The organization consists of seven business units covering strategic, tactical and operational activities in the SCM process - Strategy and supplier relations, Procurement subsurface, Procurement capital projects, Procurement Norway, Procurement International, Operational procurement and material management, and Process owner supply chain management.
The business unit TPD PSR Procurement international is responsible handling tactical procurement activities at our international locations. Procurement international has a geographical structured organization and consists of six sectors – South America, US/Mexico, Canada, Angola, Tanzania and Europe, Middle East, Africa Asia (EMAA).
In 2007 Statoil signed a production sharing agreement (PSA) for Block 2 with Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC). Statoil Tanzania AS is the operator with 65% working interest with ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Limited as a partner with 35% interest.
In 2012 and 2013 Statoil and its partner made the significant Zafarani, Lavani, Tangawizi and Mronge discoveries in Block 2, which covers an area of approximately 5,500 square kilometres and lies in water depths between 1,500 to 3,000 metres. The discoveries have proved 17-20 Tcf of in-place volumes and mark an important step towards a possible natural gas development in Tanzania.

We are currently looking for talented Senior Consultant Supply Chain Management, Operation Procurement.
Job description
- Procurement activities for the Statoil Tanzania office and for Statoil's Tanzania Gas Project
- Prepare inquiries, evaluate offers and lead negotiations
- Create purchase orders and call offs from frameworks agreements in SAP
- Establish and manage contracts and framework agreements
- Prepare demand and market analysis, including screening and prequalification of suppliers in the Tanzanian market
- Develop relationships with internal customers and suppliers, with focus on local requirements
- Expedite and follow up deliveries from suppliers
- Track and give feedback internally on supplier performance
- Track and report on spend, including local content
- Communicate as required with Tanzanian authorities on procurement related issues
Qualifications
- Master's Degree within Supply Chain Management (SCM), engineering, economics and law specializations or similar is required
- 5-7 Years of Work Experience.
- Excellent written and Oral Kiswahili and English Language skills
- Supply Chain Management experience will be an advantage
- Experience with SAP is an added advantage
- Work experience from medium or large enterprises is an advantage
- Strong Command of MS applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- This position is open to Tanzanian Nationals
