Process Specialist / CAM Programmer

Sandvik Coromant, the world's #1 supplier of cutting tools and know-how for competitive machining, is currently seeking a Process Specialist / CAM Programmer. The position will report to the Engineering Competence Center Manager – Oil & Gas in Stafford, Texas and supports the Market Area Americas.

The Role

In this key role, the Process Specialist/CAM Programmer is responsible for producing advanced CAM programs for 3/4/5-axis and multi-task machine tools. The Process Specialist / CAM Programmer will work and apply the latest machining techniques. The position will involve working across multifunctional teams to support sales growth in the MAA.

Key Performance Areas

• Produce CAM programs for all levels of machines including, but not limited to, 3/4/5-axis machining centers, turn-mill centers, lathes and milling machines.
• Produce machine simulations and become proficient using other software packages for presentations, projects and training.
• Prepare presentation materials and execute presentations for internal and external training purposes.
• Work closely with machine operators to ensure optimal machining capabilities.
• Define machining processes, tooling and parameters for components specific to the Aerospace industry.
• Develop new process capabilities and development of new machining techniques specific to Sandvik Coromant tooling.
• Work directly with customers to prove-out specified process and programs.
• Develop new manufacturing methods and techniques.
• Perform additional duties as required by the ECC Manager.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent education/experience
• Minimum of 3 years process engineering experience in working with metal removal tooling
• Unigraphics (NX) or MasterCam software experience is preferred, other packages will be considered.
• Good understanding of various machining techniques including milling, turning and drilling, as well as machine tool capabilities
• Good interpersonal and presentation skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent English is a prerequisite
• Ability to travel
• Must be legally eligible to work within MAA
• Must possess a current driver's license for his/her state of primary residence
• Employee will be required to undergo a background check and drug screening
