1: JOB PURPOSE
· The IT Supervisor will act as a representative of the IT Shared Services organization
· Information technology advisor to the IM Senior management team
· The role will provide Supervision and direction in IT service delivery to the Implementing Member (IM)
· Effectively manage IT resources at IMs in delivering high quality service to all users.
· The role will coordinate with relevant IT Shared Services teams on the installation, enhancements or changes to IT systems
· Responsible for building and leading an effective team of on-site IT Service Delivery Officers.
· The role is key in driving successful implementation of strategic objectives of the Implementing Member (IM) and the global IT organization.
.2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Management of IT Functions at IM
o Assure IT service quality standards to ensure compliance with these standards
o Evaluate, monitor, and control IT department and staff performance
o Ensure agreed performance standards
o Participate in various internal Board or Management Committees as requested by IM and/or ITSS Management.
o Ensure IM strategic alignment of IM IT to both local and OI strategy
· IT Governance assurance
o Oversee the documentation and application of sound and up-to-date IT principles
o Ensure IT governance compliance e.g. Central Bank regulations, IT policies, etc
o Own the Disaster Recovery Plans of IMs and ensure compliance
· Vendor Management
o Assure effective and efficient liaison with IT organization and service partners
· IT Systems and Services
o Oversee the local IT resourcing and budgeting process
o Act as the primary IM consultant on all technological Issues
· IT Staff Management
o Manage the day-to-day IT function
o Plan, Monitor and manage staff performance against agreed performance standards.
o In liaison with HR and ITSS manage the local IT Staff issues
o Ensure a solid and engaged local IT team
3. KNOW HOW AND EXPERIENCE
3.1 Qualification
· An IT-related degree or a relevant Business related subject preferred
· ITIL certification is required.
· Other Industry certifications e.g. MCSE, CCNE, MDBA, PRINCE2 are desirable.
3.2 Knowledge and Experience
· At least 3 years IT Supervision experience in medium-large banking or business environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Wide knowledge of and advanced skills in computer hardware and software programs of diverse functionality. Including but not limited to: communications systems, desktop applications, and network administration programs.
· Knowledge of the General Banking or Financial Services Act, banking laws and regulations, local legal legislation.
· Knowledge of the IM's lending, banking, and transformation products policies and procedures
· Disposition to share IT and MIS knowledge fully and willingly with other employees in the interest of the organization.
· Experience in effective remote management of staff is a plus
· Experience managing a globally diverse team and sensitivity to cultural differences.

3.3 Reporting and Communication Skills
- Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence; speak clearly to third parties and employees.
· Basic knowledge and understanding of reporting systems
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Other language skills helpful, ideally in French, Portuguese or Swahili.
3.4 Monitoring and Control of Performance Targets
· Ability to deliver against functional and business MIS goals and objective
· Ability to set, monitor and assess achievement against performance targets and quality standards
· Proven ability to meet departmental challenges
3.5 Leadership and People Management Skills
· Proven supervisory experience
· Ability to prioritize projects and tasks and motivate and maintain departmental efficiency.
· Ability to think strategically in support of overall departmental and OTL goals.
· Excellent organization, delegation and time management skills
· Ability to work under pressure and with no supervision while performing duties
· Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
· An aptitude for problem solving, teaching, helping users perform their duties with computing devices
· A high degree of interpersonal skills and working with various levels of the organization.
· Proven change management capability
· Ability to handle difficult people and tense situations with diplomacy and tact; spot potential conflict, bring disagreements into the open, encourage debate and open discussion and orchestrate win-win situations.
· Self-motivated team player with the ability to adapt and work co-operatively and effectively in different situations and teams to carry out assigned tasks.
· Ability to delegate effectively amongst teams and staff, and show commitment to the long-term development of the team members through coaching, mentoring, and the creation of development opportunities.
