Database Analyst

Database Analyst
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Data Analysis, the Database Analyst is responsible for assisting business unit users with the donor database. In conjunction with the Managing Director of Donor Database Management, the Database Analyst will work with the Development department to determine concrete and specific database needs.
Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):
  • Run queries from QSM
  • Alert USF Systems department when responsibility for user problems resides in that area
  • Assist Data Entry with data feed and data entry issues
  • Serve as technical resource for issues with lockbox
  • Trains all users on the donor database
  • Answer all users' questions on functionality within PIDI
  • Maintain all code tables (ensuring that all codes conform to a set structure)
  • Communicate with fundraising staff regarding proper gift coding
  • Encourage proper use of Donor Direct features
  • Assist end users in understanding and properly interpreting output data from PIDI
  • Troubleshoot bugs and end user issues
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years' experience managing constituent management systems, preferably in a nonprofit environment
  • Ability to write SQL
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; Microsoft Access experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough understanding of donor database systems
