Job Description

Job Purpose
An opportunity to develop and implement value driven strategic change across the Group's jet fuel business in particular at its high demand locations as well as manage and grow the Group's sustainable fuel business on an affordable basis.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Development of the Group's sourcing and supply chain strategy
  • Identify commercial opportunities and risks to move up the value chain to provide competitive advantage to the Group
  • Develops business cases for change and implement solutions to add value for the Group
  • Develop strategies to continuously optimise existing supply operations
  • Responsible for the development of the Group's sustainable fuels business to meet its strategic sustainability goals. Management of BA's flagship Solena Greensky London project to implementation
  • Act as a subject matter expert and coach for the Group's operations and commercial teams
Key Interfaces
  • Internally with Head of Fuel and the wider Fuel Team, Topco Treasury, Legal, Operations, Risk and Environment teams, senior management to Group MC level
  • Externally across a wide global supplier landscape. From large integrated oil companies to the small SME technology provider.

The Individual

  • Proven track record in midstream/downstream petroleum business which includes experience in aviation fuel
  • Commercial background in supply business development. Good understanding on how downstream markets are made and priced. Fuel trading, operations, technical and quality experience preferable
  • Experience in bespoke oil supply contract development and negotiation. Good understanding of commercial law especially with respect to petroleum supply. Ability to conduct requisite due diligence
  • Experience and good understanding of sustainable fuels business with an understanding of the regulatory, technical and commercial challenges facing aviation
  • The ability to research opportunities, innovate and implement solutions to deliver value to the Group
  • Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and operational risk
  • Ability to manage and develop productive relationships, especially externally to develop innovative long term solutions
  • Excellent analytical and influencing skills, ability to work across geographies and cultures
  • Fluency in English essential. Spanish preferable
