CO2 Plant Manager – Mbeya/Tanzania

Our client has been a pioneer in the gas industry for a number of years. The company is the leading manufacturer and distributor of industrial and medical gases in Tanzania, including chemical industries, food, beverages and agriculture, manufacturing industries, hospitals and healthcare.

They are currently looking for a Plant Manager who will be responsible for there carbon dioxide plants situated in the southern highlands of Tanzania

Job Purpose

• Overall in charge of both CO plants as well as a depot and ensure that all operations are in line with highest standards of quality, health and safety and efficiency. Overseeing the operations and technical aspects of CO2 storage and distribution depot.
• Maintaining amicable relations with the neighboring communities conducive for business to thrive uninterrupted. 

Position Description

• Controlling the production and distribution costs in line with the approved budget.
• Ensuring that products produced are within the Company Quality Standards (ISO 220000).
• Proactively maintaining plants and equipment in good working condition for an efficient overall operation.
• Where necessary liaising with Maintenance team to ensure that all company's machines and equipments are properly maintained and safeguarded.
• Preparing all Plants Reports in timely manner.
• Ensuring that all health and safety, ISO 22000 and other regulations and standards in place are adhered to in the workplace at all times. Supervising stores and ensures that materials are used efficiently.
• Assisted by a community liaison officer, maintain good relations with all the stakeholders around the factory such as VEO, WEO, DC & RC, Religious Leaders and the Community at large.
• Perform any other duties as may be directed by management from to time.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree or higher Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 yrs experience on CO2 manufacturing environment five of which should be in management position.
• Experience of working outside your country of origin is an advantage, preferably within Asia Pacific or Africa
