Lindi and Mtwara Agribusiness Support project 'LIMAS' is a bilateral development project, funded jointly by the Governments of Tanzania and Finland.
- The purpose is to assist rural population generate increased income through developing agriculture and forestry production, processing and marketing.
- Implemented by individual entrepreneurs and private companies, farmers and forest users, and supported by Newala and Liwale District Councils, consultants, service providers and LIMAS Technical Assistance (TA).
- The TA team consists of seven staff members with duty stations in Mtwara (main office), Newala and Liwale. Support services to LIMAS are provided by Financial Manager (FAM), Office Administrator (OFA) and two assistants. In addition LIMAS employs four drivers.
LIMAS OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
The LIMAS Office Administrator (OFA) ensures that the project operations are effectively supported with required office services, tools and materials. In addition the OFA plays an important role in project financial administration, monitoring and report compilation and project communication. Duty station in Mtwara. PROJECT ASSISTANT
The LIMAS Project Assistant (PA) supports in daily project operations and financial administration: preparation of activity budgets, fund requests, retirements, and maintains the project office space and facilities in Liwale. The PA works in close cooperation with LIMAS Technical Assistance staff, the forestry experts in particular, with the duty station in Liwale District, Lindi region.
