Field Technicians



Field Technicians
Reporting to Network Infrastructure Manager
To provide the primary technical interface for all customers; restore customer services to operational level within SLA and carry out and lead Survey, Installation, and Commissioning tasks, completing them within set project timescales and budget, and to defined quality standards. To participate on a 24X7X365 call rota.

Requirements:
·         At least 1 year telecommunications working in a field service/support environment
·         Full climbing certification and working at Height, RF and Emergency working at heights certification
·         Familiar with wireless technologies
·         Computer literate
·         Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician(CCENT)
·         Basic Network and IP Principles
·         Knowledge of antenna and wave guide installations
·         Well organized and able to establish priorities
·         Good customer relation skills
·         Ability to travel for up to two weeks
·         Good oral and written communication skills
·         Self-motivated and enthusiastic, ability to work effectively unsupervised
·         Flexible and adaptive attitude, considerable working outside of normal working hours 24X7X365
·         Full Driving License
Proposed Salary will depend on level of experience and capability of each candidate

Key Responsibilities
·         On-site Client Visits
o   Provide primary technical interface between the company and its customers
o   Develop good working relationships internally and externally, acting as an ambassador for the company whilst on customer sites

·         Site Survey
o   Perform visual LOS
o   Perform Radio LOS
o   Collect all relevant data
§  GPS coordinates
§  Proposed installation point pictures

·         Installation & Commissioning
o   Follow best practice installation manual
o   Proper grounding of equipment
o   Take installation pictures
o   Complete installation report
o   Installation of different radio / microwave antennas, i.e. Canopy, Radwin, Alvarion, etc.
o   Make sure client signs off Acceptance Test Procedure Form
·         Maintenance & Troubleshooting
o   Carry out proactive maintenance of client radio links
o   Assist members of our clients customer support / technical support team to resolve network issues remotely or on-site
o   Ensure that faults reported are accurate at all times
·         Callout Rota
o   Participate in a 24 X 7 callout rota covering all equipment in the Service Area
o   Respond to requests for service within SLA or company targets, restoring the customer's services to operational level as required by the contract
·         Documentation
o   Keep diligent records and accurately update both internal and Customer systems where necessary
o   Assist in the development  and review of processes and procedures with a view to maximize efficiency
·         Equipment
o   Ensure the handling of spares from issue through to return to stock according to current operational procedures
o   Ensure that all equipment issued is correctly maintained at all times

·         Remain fit for work while on call at all times, including ensuring that all mandatory training is maintained
·         To complete any duties given to them by the Network Infrastructure Manager in a timely and professional manner
·         Report any Health and Safety Issues immediately to the Network Infrastructure Manager or Superior and comply with all customer and company quality, environmental and HSE requirements

KPIs
·         % of service requests due to poor installation should be less than 2%
·         % of installations delivered/completed by Committed date should be greater than 95%
·         % of installations/site surveys requiring Rework should be less than 2%
·         % of overdue service requests should be less than 5%
