Scale Grants Manager , Washington, D.C



Scale Grants Manager , Washington, D.C Chemonics seeks a scale grants manager for the anticipated USAID-funded, Washington-based worldwide Wildlife Trafficking Technology Challenge (WTTC) program. WTTC will use challenges and competitions to stimulate creation of innovative and affordable science and technology solutions to combat wildlife trafficking. It will focus on movement of trafficked wildlife and wildlife parts (including detecting existing routes, predicting future routes, and movement of trafficked wildlife on the Internet); forensics and intelligence gathering (including identifying illegal wildlife products and improving intelligence gathering and management); reducing consumer demand (including promoting change in societal and cultural norms and raising awareness of illegal products); and anticorruption. The program will also support scaling up successful ideas resulting from these competitions. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.​
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Manage prize distribution (not grants) and  grants to selected winners to scale their technologies 
  • Provide support and work with the scale manager and senior prize manager
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in a relevant field preferred
  • Experience in grants management
  • Familiarity with prize competitions preferred
  • ability to engage nontraditional stakeholders and work with diverse global actors (e.g., the private sector, government, nongovernmental organizations, science and technology experts)
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
