Local Government Public Financial Management Specialists in Tanzania

KPMG's International Development Advisory Services (IDAS) unit works with donor agencies and NGOs to maximize the impact of foreign aid across Africa. We have offices throughout Africa and have adopted a pan-African approach to development work – employing full-time experienced development experts within the KPMG Africa IDAS teams including in Tanzania.

The IDAS unit focuses on understanding clients' organisations and operations, and supporting them in delivering their development programmes. The core of our work is in advisory and audit assignments for donor agencies, for example providing grant management services, supporting the development and operationalisation of private sector development and governance enhancement programmes, and supporting the development and performance of donor and civil society organisations. We also provide audit and assurance services for many donor and civil society organisations.

IDAS is seeking professionals in Public Financial Management (PFM) in Tanzania, with specific experience working with local government.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Significant experience of PFM in Tanzania, particularly of working at the local government level;
• Strong Public Finance Management experience (PFM), including one or more of the following:

1. Budgeting and Planning;
2. Budgeting and Execution;
3. Budget controls and Oversight;

• Experience and knowledge of the financial management cycle as it applies to local, district, regional and central government, including knowledge of EPICOR;
• Experience of building public financial management capacity an advantage;
• Experience of working on donor-funded programmes an advantage;
• Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English and Kiswahili

Education:

• Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA or similar) required
• Additional qualifications in CISA, CIA, CFA, CIPFA, IMIS an added advantage.
• A Bachelors degree in public finance or a related degree would be desirable
