Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences is inviting applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to be considered for employment to fill the following vacant posts:-
Telephone Operator II - 1 Post
Required Qualification
Holder of certificate of Secondary Education with credit passes in English, Kiswahili and Geography or form six who has principal pass in English and has attained certificate in telephone operation or from desk/reception administration or equivalent qualification from recognized Institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operates switch-boards with at least 50 extensions.
Answers calling signals from subscribers within and distant exchanges. J
Connects calls within the exchange area and outside and raises appropriate charges where required.
Makes bookings for international exchange and prepares necessary records and report to his/her Supervisor.
Answers enquiries coming from subscribers
Prepares and maintains subscribers' records.
Dispatches truck-call bills to Senior Telephone Operator.
Co-ordinates with, and assists the Telephone Supervisor in preparing the College Telephone Directory.
Arranges telephone repairs/ servicing
Performs any other duties as may be determined from time to time by one's reporting officer.
Salary Scale PGSS 6-7

Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) or National Accreditation Council for Technical Education (NACTE) for foreign non degree certificates
