PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Prepare weekly plans and to communicate the plan effectively to execution team which is mining production team. Role is to perform monitoring over mining operations on a daily basis to adhere to the weekly schedules and do reconciliations and to support the Senior Mining Engineer (STP) in preparing weekly plans.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support / Assist the Senior Mining Engineer (STP) in the preparation of weekly plans.
- Monitoring mining operations on daily basis to adhere to the weekly schedules and do detailed physical reconciliation for performance effectiveness.
- Conducting, coordinating and / or contributing in mining studies on key performance indicators of Mining Operations to enhance the productivities.
- Provide a link between mine planning and mining operations for effective communication and execution of the plan in the field.
- Provide timely technical support to Production Manager and FLMs through rolling weekly plans.
- Coaching the graduate and junior mining engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- A 3-year qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent is essential.
- Post Graduate diploma or degree in Mining Engineering if first degree is not mining engineering.
- 5 or more years' experience in hard rock open pit mining operations, of which at least two years or mine planning experience essential.
- Experience in full mine planning activities and mining operations.
- Hands on experience in any General Mining Packages and knowledge of running Talpac or similar haul cycle optimisation tools.
- Able to show initiative and co-ordination skills and be able to perform in collateral and cross functional environments.
- Able to drive and hold an international driver's license.
