POSITION: INTERN – 2 POST

REPORTING TO:   CHIEF LEGAL COUNSEL

DUTY STATION:   DAR ES SALAAM
DURATION: 3 - 6 MONTHS (ON SATISFACTORY PROGRESS)

ROLE PURPOSE STATEMENT:

To provide legal advice to the company on matters relating to litigation and aviation industry.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES /RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain Case and Contract Database

• Attend Court/ Client briefings and meetings as assigned

• Preparation of legal opinions, contracts, pleadings and, legal correspondence on litigation, corporate and regulatory compliance matters

• Support the department functions as and when assigned by departmnet head

QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B)

• Completed studies with Law School of Tanzania

• Knowledgeable and some experience in Corporate Legal practice in Tanzania

• Knowledgeable in Civil litigation process in Tanzania

PERFORMANCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to multi task, prioritise and manage time

• Assist in contract management and regulatory compliance issues

• Computer literate and experienced in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)

• Develop and Maintain Registers and Databases

• Excellent communication skills in Kiswahili and English (written and verbal)

• Friendly, professional, enthusiastic and keen to understand about company operations and funtions

• Observant of professional etiquette, ethics and conduct

• Organised, punctual, responsible and accountable for own actions

• Pays attention to details and keen eye for quality management of work

• Manner of Performance of other duties as and when assigned by department head

• Professional development and growth in litigation and corporate matters

• Takes initiative and team player

• Understand and produce required information in timely manner
