Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) is a National Oil Company dealing with oil and gas exploration, development and production. The company is based in Dar- Es -Salaam.

Job Title12: GAS PIPELINE METERING AND MEASUREMENT ENGINEER (2 Posts)

Location: Kinyerezi, Dar es Salaam

Reports To: PIPELINE MANAGER

12.0 JOB SUMMARY

In addition to having extensive knowledge of all aspects of gas measurement and

procedures, supervise a team of gas measurement technicians while assisting the

Manager and maintenance team with the daily operation of natural gas transmission

and distribution pipelines and related facilities.

12.1 PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 Foster an Operating Environment that is focused on Continuous Improvement  Manage all aspects of daily Pipeline Gas Metering Operations

 Establish Facility HSE Metrics in compliance with OSHA and EPA Standards and

Champion the Facility's Process Safety Management (PSM) Program

 Manage telemetry and non-telemetry measurement data processes and analyze

measurement data, Analyze, reconcile and make necessary adjustments to measurement and allocation

of data,  Coordinate with customers and perform all aspects of the gas measurement both for

transmission and distribution systems,  Prepare the weekly and monthly reports for the measured quantities for each

customer for invoicing,  Participate in the Set-up and maintenance of metering facilities in the pipeline

systems,  Coordinate and perform all aspects of the gas measurement,

 Ensure the measured quantities and allocated volumes are accurate and comply

with the standards,  Identify and resolve engineering and related technical and non-technical issues

related to the planning, construction, modification, and operation of distribution,

transmission, and related facilities, systems and services,  Liaison with the Pipeline Control room operators to manage the daily nomination

volumes/scheduling of Pipeline daily operations.

12.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 BSc. in Instrumentation/Electronics/Gas Engineering or related field with a

minimum of 3 years experience on natural gas pipelines operations and natural

gas measurements,  Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project Management,  SCADA based control systems experience is required;  Detailed knowledge of pipeline codes and industry standards and ability to

learn, interpret and apply, ISO, API, ANSI / ASME and other appropriate coders

for natural gas industry.

12.3 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

 Long Hours in the Field, at times under extreme weather conditions  8 hour day shifts;

12.4 AGE LIMIT

 Age limit not more than 40 years

12.5 REMUNERATION:  According to TPDC Scheme of service in the salary scale of TPDC RS 1
