The DFID-funded Education Quality Improvement Programme in

Tanzania (EQUIP-T) aims to support 36 districts in their efforts to produce a better quality of primary education for more than two million children in over 3700 primary schools.

We need an Administration Manager to ensure EQUIP-Tanzania programme operations, logistics, systems and general administration function effectively.

Job Description

  1. Oversee/maintain programme administration of:
  • Office systems required for the smooth running and support of the programme
  • Procurement systems and procedures
  • Contracts management system and procedures
  • Financial management systems, including payroll, asset management and cash management system
  • Vehicle management system
  1. Support implementation of the contract management system and procedures
  2. Oversee and line-manage Dar-es-Salaam office administrative personnel
  3. Support Regional Team Leaders in the oversight of their respective admi

Candidate Specification

Knowledge, essential competencies, skills and qualifications:
  • Degree(ideally a post-graduate) in public administration, accounting or other related area
  • Proven experience in programme operations and administration in Tanzania and/or the region
  • Experience of setting up and maintaining operations and logistical procedures
  • Experience of procurement, contract management and financial management systems, ideally within a development programme context
  • Experience in managing recruitment processes
  • Proven management experience leading small to medium sized teams
