G4S Tanzania requires an experienced National Payroll Administrator to be based in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will manage the Payroll Office for G4S Tanzania and ensure timely preparation and accurate cost distribution of salaries, overhead and related benefits in compliance with government regulations and in accordance with internal controls.
Role Responsibility:
Manage the budget
- Check, analyze and explain major variances to budget on a monthly basis in terms of salaries.
- Ensure that expense mandates follow audit procedures
Staff management and development
- All team members have clearly defined job profiles aligned to manager profile
- Regular goal review completed to assess achievement of results
- Support, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met
- Completed development plans for each employee
- Employment equity plan targets measured
- Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands
- Ensure that events/activities taking place in team are effectively communicated within team and to other teams requiring the information
- Ensure adequate succession plan to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements
Audit management and liaison
- Handles government and state agency audits
- Maintains close contact with all regulatory agencies
- Ensure that the company has accurate information and is in compliance.
- Maintain all payroll records, reports, computations and audits, including periodic internal audit tests of labor utilization;
- Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and government regulations
- Provides periodic analysis of payroll and disbursement records.
- Ensure adjustments are in accordance with management's criteria.
Review and monitor employment policies in relation to payroll activities.
- Analyze and interpret employment policies and government regulations in connection with payroll activities.
- Propose recommendations on modifications to senior management as appropriate.
- Obtain approval or sign-off on recommendations
- Implement recommendations and monitor effectiveness.
Oversee payroll operations
- Ensures timely and accurate preparation of all payroll operations.
- Ensure that payroll actions are in conformance with employment and benefits practices and accounting procedures.
- Daily update of employee benefits issues (deductions etc.) to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll.
- Oversees preparation of payroll tax reports, including quarterly and year-end returns;
- Determine taxability of non-wage payments and serve as in-house contact for technical tax compliance issues, including tax liabilities of foreign nationals.

Minimum qualification & experience
- Relevant Accounting degree/diploma in payroll management
- 6 to 8 Years relevant wage/payroll experience and staff management
- VIP Certification of competency
