We are seeking an organized, independent and business-oriented media professional to
fill the role of production manager on an animated educational TV series produced in
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
You will report to the series producer and managing director of the UBONGO, but must
be able to work independently to manage day-to-day production of the series. The job
will begin as a 6 month position, with the opportunity for extension and promotion after
that period.
Responsibilities:
• Managing production schedules and workflows
• Scheduling organizing casting, voice over and filming sessions
• Administrative and organizational work associated with broadcast
• Tracking production budget and expenses
• Assisting with research, outreach and marketing when needed
• Assisting with production when needed - brainstorming stories, editing scripts,
translation, etc.
• Doing whatever is necessary to ensure that everything runs smoothly and production
gets completed on time!
Please note: We are a small company and you will at times need to perform tasks
outside of your job role and experience. This may be challenging, but will give you the
opportunity to develop new and valuable skills.
Qualifications:
•Fluent written and spoken English and Kiswahili
•Undergraduate degree in business, management, media or a related field
•Experience managing teams and budgets
•Very IT literate and comfortable using web 2.0 tools for project and budget
management (we use Google Drive, Asana and Quickbooks extensively)
•Demonstrable leadership skills
•Familiarity with East African media and broadcast industries
•A can-do attitude and readiness to learn on the job as we create a
