DUTY STATION:                MUGUMU, TANZANIA

  1. PURPOSE STATEMENT OF THE JOB

To develop and manage the company's NTZ Operations with regards to budgets, Office Running, Staff Responsibilities and Supply Chain well as building and maintaining good primary society/farmer relationships with the company.

  1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1      COMPANY ACTIVITIES
1.1  Field and Marketing
1.1.1         Manages and monitors tobacco production
1.1.2        Allocates tobacco seed as per regions production targets
1.1.3        Monitors marketing and farmers/PSs sales
1.1.4        Allocates and distributes bale tickets according to region production estimates
1.1.5        Coordinates with tobacco stakeholder on follow up production matter requires stakeholder supervisions

1.2   Manages and monitors AOTTL Staff Responsibilities
1.3   Manages and monitors Registration and contracting of Farmers
1.4   Manages and monitors AOTTL activities/responsibilities
1.4.1        Agronomy support and GAP
1.4.2       Farmer advance payments up to 40% of estimated crop value into store
1.4.3       Farmer markets
1.4.4       Tobacco supply chain from market to factory gate
1.5   Liaises with TTB, UNIONS, PS's, Farmers & Government Officials
1.6   Monitors AOTTL Primary Society Accounts for debt recoveries/ bank loans
2    COMPANY NTZ ACTIVITIES
2.1   Manages and monitors NTZ Budgets
2.1.1        Prepares NTZ Office  Annual Budget
2.1.2       Prepares transportation budgets for AOP
2.1.3       Monitors vehicle fuelling, repairs and Maintenance
2.2 Manages NTZ Staff
2.2.1       Monitor staffs leaves and  sick sheets,
2.2.2       Liaises with HR and HOD to Monitors employment contracts
2.2.3        Manages staff responsibilities & attendance
2.2.4       Appraises staff performance in liaise with HR and HOD
2.3 NTZ office liaison personnel
2.3.1       Communicates with Tobacco stake holders (AOTTL, TTB, UNIONS, PS's, Farmers)
2.3.2       Communicates with Government Officials and General Public
2.3.3       Represent AOTTL in regional meeting
2.3.4       Attends Farmers problem and queries
2.3.5       Ensures good relationship with farmers/PSs
2.4 Strategize/Plans future Operational Expansion  
3      LOGISTICS AND WAREHOUSING
3.1    Manages transportation of Greenleaf tobacco to factory
3.1.1  Allocates Short and Long Range, Direct shipping    Transporters
3.1.2  Receives and Organizes quotations for tobacco transportation
3.1.3  Communicates Approved transportation rates to Transporters
3.1.4  Prepares Transportation Contracts and Distributes for signing
3.2    Administers AOTTL Warehousing
3.2.1  Ensures Contracts are Renewed Timely for hired warehouses
3.2.2  Checks  and Advises for  repairs and Maintenance
3.2.3  Advises for needs of hiring warehousing


  1. JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Ordinary level secondary education
  • A diploma in Agriculture or Managerial skills
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years and experience in agriculture preferably with tobacco experience
