OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION The Information Services Department within our client's office is committed to developing and operating high-quality innovative digital information and technology solutions to fulfil its mandated responsibilities and deliver on agreed priorities; and clients to access essential information for better analysis and decision-making for effective humanitarian action.

Below are the current range of products and services that our client manages. List if not exhaustive and is expected to grow as new initiatives are launched. • Central website enabling operational responders during an emergency. • Online humanitarian news and analysis service covering parts of the world often under reported, misunderstood or ignored. • Corporate Website – provides basic information on what our client is, what it does and where it works. Provide access to many of the organization's information products and also serves as a gateway to our client's family of websites. • Online gateway to information on humanitarian emergencies.
• Critical datasets that are used to support the work of humanitarian across multiple sectors. • Web based tool for distributed management of inputs to joint documents.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS Content Managers are individuals responsible for the identification, selection, classification and maintenance of all content made available on digital information products/services.
Services in this role include identifying relevant content from existing and new information sources; apply approved taxonomy and editorial guidelines; ensure important content is highlighted on site and through delivery mechanisms. Seeking out relevant content from new sources, including social media networks Quality control and verification of content as required providing regional or thematic coverage, drawing on language skills and regional experience.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE o Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with three (03) years of pertinent work experience. o Understanding of web content management systems including the use of taxonomy and content classification. o Experience and fair knowledge of web authoring. o Strong interest in international affairs, including emergency responses, disaster management, peace building and peacekeeping, conflict resolution, human rights and IHL. o Must have Teamwork, Planning, Organizing, Accountability, Creativity, Client Orientation, Commitment to continuous learning and Technological awareness. o Ability to work with minimum supervision as well as in a team.
LANGUAGES o Fluency in English o Fluency in French and/or Spanish is a strong asset
