STAMIGOLD Company Limited - Biharamulo Mine is a subsidiary company of the State Mining Corporation (STAMICO) operating a gold mine. The Mine is located in the Biharamulo Forest Reserve, South West of Mwanza in Kagera Region. In order to run the mine effectively and efficiently, the Company invites applications from qualified candidates to fill the existing vacancy as detailed below: -

Work Roster: 6/3(42 days on, 21 days off)
Contract Duration: Not Exceeding 2 years, subject to renewal
RESOURCE GEOLOGIST (01)
THE ROLE:
The Senior Resource Geologist will be reporting to Chief Geologist and will be supporting the exploration, mining geology and engineering group with geological and resource modelling.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
• Compositing and validating drill hole data suitable for resource estimation.
• Auditing of drill hole databases.
• Use of statistical tools to create summary reports, frequency-tables and probability plots
• Use of geostatistical tools to generate variograms
• Creating and manipulating wireframes of complex orebodies for 3D visualisation and volume calculations.
• Creating block models containing geological, structural and grade information required for resource/reserve estimation and planning
• Grade estimation using both geostatistical and non-geostatistical methods.
• Calculate summary volumes, tones and grades within a defined volume to facilitate optimization of production in open pit and underground.
• Other duties in line with this job title as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Core Competence
• Able to maintain accurate records and ensure that ore reserve and resource estimates are maintained to a high level of accuracy.
• A good knowledge of mining safety regulations and best practices is essential.
• Ability to initiate and work under minimal supervision while supervise and control the work of subordinates
• Highly motivated, resourceful, leads by example and maintains high standard of work.
• Must be a team player, Flexible, Attentive to details and results oriented
• Demonstrated track record of integrity honesty.
• Develop and promote a Succession Plan
Qualification
• BSc in Geology Mining with a minimum experience of 7 years as Geologist, workingin an exploration, open pit mining and gold processing environment
• Very good computer skills in Acquire, Modelling Software packages - Vulcan, Datamine, Surpac,
• MS Office software package - Excel, Word, and
• Access and other Software which will facilitate reporting.
