Economic Empowerment Programme
Overall objective for position
The overall objective is to contribute to the implementation of NCA Tanzania's Economic Empowerment programme. The position is responsible for achieving the programme goals stated in the NCA Tanzania country strategy. The specific focus the coming years will be to support NCA faith based partners' establishment of a National VICOBA association, facilitating members of inter-religious VICOBA groups to make use of the power of acting together for market access and procurement, capacity building and policy dialogue. The role also includes operational activities related to driving progress in our Economic Empowerment pilots
Areas of responsibilities / Objectives and duties
Strongly drive progress in pilot initiatives on a daily basis, including significant travel to pilot areas.
Secure professional implementation of programme in the most effective manner possible. In particular to make every effort to ensure that objectives are achieved according to NCA Tanzania country strategy and that alternative resolves are initiated immediately when planned activities fail to reach intended sub-goal.
• As a member of the programme team, contribute to the strategic direction of the Tanzania programme.
• Advise, monitor and follow up the implementation of goals and objectives of the country programme.
• Responsible for planning, coordination and facilitation of programme/project activities within NCA Tanzania Economic Empowerment Programme.
• Review and control proposals and budgets from partners. Facilitate partners to plan and implement project according to contracts and NCA country strategy. Ensure that partners hz.ve the required capacity to perform the activities undertaken and planned.
• Prepare progress report on partner's activities and share it with partners and other stakeholders.
• Function as a resource person in order to improve planning and performance of partner organizations.
• Compile, review and submit periodical, annual and situational plans and reports from the partners to the Programme Manager.
• Monitor the implementation of projects and ensure evaluations of the impact of the programs/projects. Organize and carry out field visits to project sites to follow up and monitor projects' implementation.
• Collaborate with partners as well as local communities and authorities, and relevant Government Departments, UN
• Contribute to cross-programme integration, learning, sharing and adoption of best practices from other NCA activities and programmes.
• Travel to attend meetings, training activities, and be involved in building needed partnerships related to the programme
Qualifications:
• Tanzanian national with a good Master's degree from recognized Business School. Similar degree in Agriculture could suffice, if combined with significant successful commercial agriculture, agribusiness or business management experience beyond local scale.
• Proven experience in project management
• Agricultural experience, especially from organizations working to improve the profit of smallholders, is significant asset
• Experience in entrepreneurship-starting a business now employing 20+ people is a strong asset
• At least 5 years of relevant experience
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English and Swahili
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Good commanding skills in computer application including MS Word, Excel, Internet and Microsoft outlook.

• The ability to learn fast and adapt to change easily and work under pressure/tight deadlines with minimum supervision. Timely deliveries and good time management are expected,
• Ability to work in multi-cultural settings and being able to interrelate with relevant stakeholders both at the national and sub-national levels. Professional inter-action with NCA head office in Norway and 17 country offices world-wide will apply.
