Employment in Tanzania Buildings Agency



The Tanzania Buildings Agency is a Government Executive Agency established under the Executive Agencies Act No. 30 of 1997 to deal with Building Consultancy as well as
Real Estate Development and Management Services for the Government and public servants.

7.1 INFORMATION OFFICER II– 1 POST
7.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
 Plans and conducts public relation program designed to create and maintain favorable public image for the Agency and clients.
 Prepares and distributes news releases, photographs to media representatives
 Arranges and organizes public events for the Agency.
 Contacts media representative on issues concerning the Agency
 Prepares press releases for the Agency.
 Handles all protocol matters in the Agency
 Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive.
7.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
 Bachelor degree or Advanced Diploma in Mass Communication and Public Relations or Journalism
 Should have computer knowledge.
7.1.3 REMUNERATION:
 According to Government pay scale TGS.D

7.2 DRIVER GRADE II – 1 POST
7.2.1 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
 Drives the Agency‟s vehicle;
 Reports on any maintenance or repair needed for the vehicle;
 Delivers mail, goods as and when instructed;
 Maintains and cleans the vehicle;
 Keeps the logbook as required on all movements made by the vehicle; and
 Performs any other duties as assigned by any of the designated senior staff.
7.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
 Form Four National Examination Certificate.
 Valid, clean class „C‟ driving license.
 Motor vehicle mechanics grade two.
 Must be fluent in English and Kiswahili.
7.2.3 REMUNERATION:
 According to Government pay scale TGOS A

7.3 SUPPLIES OFFICER GRADE II – 3 POSTS
7.3.1 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
 Prepares annual estimates of materials required for the agency;
 Orders and Issues goods/materials for the Agency;
 Compiles and keep record of current prices of purchases of stores;
 Advices on the proper use of stores;
 Assists in the preparation of contracts for tender documents;
 Ensures proper documentation of all goods and materials purchased by the Agency;
 Undertakes inventory and makes proper recording of the Agency‟s Assets;
 Supervises and monitors drivers; and
 Performs any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
 Such other research duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
7.3.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
 Bachelor degree or Advanced Diploma in Materials Management or equivalent
 Should possess computer knowledge.
7.3.3 REMUNERATION:
 According to Government pay scale TGS. D

7.4 TECHNICIAN II – 2 POSTS
7.4.1 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
 Assists in the preparation of contract documents and drawings;
 Participates in field surveys and data collection;
 Collates and processes statistics;
 Assists in the preparation of work programmes and budgets; and
 Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervising Officer.
7.4.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
 Full Technicians Certificate in civil engineering or equivalent.
 Should posses‟ computer knowledge.
 Exposure to the latest AutoCAD programmes would be of added advantage
7.4.3 REMUNERATION:
 According to Government pay scale TGS. C

7.5 RECORDS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT II 2 POSTS
7.5.1 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
 Receives, records and distributes incoming and internally created mails (letter memoranda, faxes);
 Records and arranges for the efficient and timely dispatch of all correspondences;
 Open index and control files; and
 Performs any other duties as assigned by Records Management Assistant I
7.5.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
 Form VI level with Certificate in Records Management from a recognized Institution.
 Should posses‟ computer knowledge.
7.5.3 REMUNERATION:
 According to Government pay scale TGS. B

xi. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for ordinary or advanced level education should be certified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA)
xii. Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU)
xiii. The attachments shall include one recent passport size photos; certified copies of academic certificates, transcripts and the applicant's birth certificate. This shall also include submission of certificate or application of registration by VCT or MCT.
