Economists, Social/Agricultural/Political Scientists or Lawyers
We are looking for you: Government institutions in Afghanistan need your skills and experience in order to build and expand expertise at different ministries and regional administrative units. The Afghan Government is aiming to establish and consolidate democratic structures, and this objective is set out in the Afghanistan National Development Strategy and other documents. A well-functioning economy and an effective administrative structure are crucial for a stable development in Afghanistan and will help create prosperity and build peace. Development cooperation between Germany and Afghanistan focuses on the priority areas of good governance, economic development and employment as well as on education and training. Strengthening state structures plays a key role in this context.
Your tasks will involve:
  • assisting management of the corresponding governmental institutions in developing organisational and managerial structures;
  • providing support for cooperation with other Afghan ministries, international donors and national and international partners;
  • drafting training concepts and building the expertise of staff.
Your profile:
  • a degree in economics, law or social, political, or agricultural science;
  • several years' experience in the above-mentioned areas;
  • a sound knowledge of at least one of the following fields: organisational development, donor coordination, project management or basic and further training;
  • ideally, experience in the region and in the field of development cooperation;
  • fluent Dari and/or Pashto for business as well as good English or German.
